Course : America's Boating Course

Description:  The America's Boating Course is a course for all boaters including skippers of a family cruiser, sailing enthusiasts, personal watercraft (PWC) operators, hunters or fishermen operating an outboard utility boat, and canoe and kayak paddlers,. It covers the basics you need to know to safely and legally operate your boat, such as basic boating terminology, boat handling, water sports safety, PWCs, legally required equipment and other boating laws and regulations, right-of-way rules between boats, marine radio operation and basic navigation.

Description : This is the first course in the Advanced Grades series. This course is a prerequisite to all Advanced Grade classes except Piloting, which may be taken simultaneously, prior or following this course. Learn how to tie a cleat hitch, clove hitch, stopper knot and bowline. Learn how to properly and securely anchor your boat in all seabed and weather conditions.

Course : Marine Electrical Systems

Description : The Marine Electrical Systems course is presented in seven chapters that start with an explanation of what electricity is, followed by discussions on boat electrical wiring, DC and AC electrical systems, galvanic and stray current corrosion, lightning protection, and ends with troubleshooting of boat electrical problems.

The course includes detailed instructions on how to use a multimeter, how to solder and crimp electrical wiring circuits, and how to read electrical wiring diagrams. This course can be used as a reference guide for anyone interested in properly maintaining their boat electrical system.
